Literacy, numeracy, reading, writing, drawing, social and natural sciences are some of the areas that children between the ages of 3 and 7 can and should start learning about. Look for variety in the worksheets, as repeating the same exercise over and over will bore your child.
The learning should be real-worldly. It is easiest to learn and remember when whatever is learned is immediately applied to a practical, real-life situation. You should use every opportunity to teach and regularly reinforce basic concepts taught, in real-life and in real-time. For instance, during snack-time, if a child is eating a biscuit, you can say - `B` for `biscuit`. While waiting for a school van, you can say - `V` for `Van` and so on.
Crowded problems also confuse kids. When a child is first learning a new concept in math and they lack confidence, being faced with an overcrowded worksheet can cause instant panic. Avoid this with neat and professional worksheets.

The first step is to consider the correct or appropriate font to use - the bigger the better. Avoid fonts such as the Roman Script as the curls and curves of the letters may be confusing. For kids, fun fonts such as the Comic Sans MS are advisable.
You can keep the worksheet very challenging without making it boring. Be extra sensitive as to whom you are distributing these worksheets. Do not assume that Asian learners, in particular, appreciate the English alphabet. Other learners such as the Chinese, Indians, Japanese and Koreans do have high regards to their traditional letters and this should be considered at all times.
